Welcome to the Mario Kart World Launch Cup, the first official Nintendo Switch tournament on VERSUSARENA and the beginning of a new racing era!
To celebrate the global release of Mario Kart World, we’re gathering the fastest drivers from across the community in a high octane showdown. Whether you’re a long time karting veteran or a fearless newcomer, this tournament is your chance to make history on the new tracks of Mario Kart World.
Expect crazy items, tight drifts, surprise comebacks, and a fair share of blue shells. It’s not just about speed – it’s about skill, strategy, and style.
Tournament Format
Total Players: 64
Elimination Format:
Round 1: 8 Groups of 8 Players → Top 4 in each group advance
Round 2 (Quarterfinals): 4 Groups of 8 → Top 4 advance
Semifinals: 2 Groups of 8 → Top 4 advance
Final (Grand Prix): 8 Players → 4 Races → Total points determine the champion
Races: All races use 150cc, no CPUs, items enabled, track selection randomized from Mario Kart World’s new circuits
Scoring: Standard Mario Kart points system (1st = 15 pts, 2nd = 12 pts, etc.)
